In response to the the removal of an episode of AIA Live from the Belivers Facebook Group, the Founder/President of AIA Charlie Spice sent a complaint letter to the management of Belive.TV.

Below is a copy of the email.

------Email Begins-------

Dear Daniel,

This correspondence serves as an official complaint by Adult Industry Association against Belive.tv.

On Wednesday,  29th Jan 2020, aAdmin removed our episode from the Belivers Facebook group, citing that the content was in breach of the following group rule.

"No Hate Speech or Bullying:
Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated."

In this episode, the guest and I discussed the serious problem of Sex Trafficking In The Caribbean and various solutions to fight against traffickers. Please see episode at https://www.facebook.com/AdultIndustryAssociation/videos/174824983746024/

As can be seen by anyone who watches this broadcast, the content does not in any way breach the rules of the Belivers group. Furthermore, the reason given for the removal of my episode is unfounded and unrelated to the contentIn my opinion, this is also a weak attempt to conceal the real, discriminatory reason for removing my episode.

A few days prior to the removal, there was a complaint posted in the Beliver group by a member, claiming the episode was about pornography and suggesting it should be removed. I immediately dismissed this claim and pointed out their error in judgement. I assured the member that there was no pornographic or sexually explicit material in the episode in question nor will there be in any future episodes published in the group.

It is reasonable to assume that this member escalated his complaint to the Beliver Admin, who subsequently and unjustly removed the episode.

Whether or not the complainant or the Admin watched the video, their actions are discriminatory against Adult Industry Association (AIA), who produced the episode. AIA is a paying subscriber of Belive.tv yet we are denied the same benefits as other subscribers to post our episodes in the group, as a result of the personal discriminatory views of an Admin.

This action on the part of the Admin is baseless, unethical, unprofessional and illegal. It is our opinion that the misguided action of the Admin does not represent that of the Belive.Tv company itself. Therefore, we have decided to escalate this matter to management, in the hope that our episode is reinstated without further action.

We look forward to resolving this matter and to resuming our mutually rewarding relationship.

Regards,

    Hi Charlie,

Thank you for taking the time to raise this issue to me.

Our BeLivers group is extremely important to us, and we try to take good care of every member.

Regarding the reason the post was removed, we really apologize that we chose the wrong reason as to why it was removed. Our moderator who removed it, mistakenly tag your post as under “Hate, Speech, Bullying.” What we intended to tag under that was the comment made under your post. We thought that the comment was rude and unnecessary.

The main reason the broadcast was removed was due to the content. In general, for the BeLivers, we follow the  G (General Patronage) rating. Since we can’t exactly filter out members under 18, we need to make sure that topics are G rated. Content with words such as “adult industry” or “sex” are generally not allowed on the BeLivers.

We admire your advocacy against Sex Trafficking In The Caribbean. We understand how important it is. As a company, we support all kinds of businesses and organizations. However, for content specifically posted on the BeLivers, we need to follow content guidelines that will cater to the growing members.

Thanks again for bringing this to our attention. We will be more careful next time in choosing the right reason for deleting a post. Our apologies if this has caused you any inconvenience in any way.
