Dear Mr Bondanza,

The management of Adult Industry Association (AIA) received an official complaint about Flamingo Resort & Spa, from one of its members, Ms. Danielle Divine.

The details of the complaint and the preponderance of supporting documentation provided by Ms Divine were carefully reviewed without prejudice by our Legal Counsel and our Complaints Committee, and it is our determination that Flamingo Resort & Spa in breach of contract.

The evidence clearly shows that the management of Flamingo Resort & Spa took payment for this event booking and then cancelled without good cause.

3752132856?profile=RESIZE_710xThe Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is a milestone document in the history of human rights. Drafted by representatives with different legal and cultural backgrounds from all regions of the world, the Declaration was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in Paris on 10 December 1948 (General Assembly resolution 217 A) as a common standard of achievements for all peoples and all nations. It sets out, for the first time, fundamental human rights to be universally protected and it has been translated into over 500 languages.

Preamble

Whereas recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world,

Whereas disregard and contempt for human rights have resulted in barbarous acts which have outraged the conscience of mankind, and the advent of a world in which human beings shall enjoy freedom of speech and belief and freedom from fear and want has been proclaimed as the highest aspiration of the common people,

Whereas it is essential, if man is not to be compelled to have recourse, as a last resort, to rebellion against tyranny and oppression, that human rights should be protected by the rule of law,

Whereas it is essential to promote the development of friendly relations between nations,

Whereas the peoples of the United Nations have in the Charter reaffirmed their faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person and in the equal rights of men and women and have determined to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom,

Whereas Member States have pledged themselves to achieve, in co-operation with the United Nations, the promotion of universal respect for and observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms,

Whereas a common understanding of these rights and freedoms is of the greatest importance for the full realization of this pledge,

Now, Therefore THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY proclaims THIS UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS as a common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations, to the end that every individual and every organ of society, keeping this Declaration constantly in mind, shall strive by teaching and education to promote respect for these rights and freedoms and by progressive measures, national and international, to secure their universal and effective recognition and observance, both among the peoples of Member States themselves and among the peoples of territories under their jurisdiction.

Sex workers and Instagram tried to make peace over takedowns in a meeting this summer. Then porn star Jessica Jaymes’ account was incorrectly removed — after she died.

BuzzFeed News; Getty Images

Porn stars and other sex workers are furious that Instagram continues to take down their accounts with confusing guidelines and explanations — and despite a summer meeting where actors’ union representatives and platform officials tried to hammer out their differences.

Sex censorship online is not new. But as social platforms have come under increasing pressure to figure out how and when to police content, porn stars and other sex workers say the accounts they’ve maintained for years are facing a level of scrutiny that others – like celebrities and influencers who similarly post provocative images and videos – don’t.

“No sex worker can make it anymore,” porn star Sybil Stallone told BuzzFeed News. “It’s discrimination point-blank.”

One of the latest grievances came when porn star Jessica Jaymes’ page was taken down — shortly after she was found dead at home on Sept. 17. “I am sick and tired of [Instagram] doing this to people in my industry. Jessica is never coming back,” said Alana Evans, the president of the Adult Performers Actors Guild. Her group, a chapter of the federally recognized International Entertainment Adult Union, advocates for performers.

For over 6 months, our URL of https://AdultIndustryAssociation.org was blocked from being published on Facebook and its sister company Instagram

When anyone tries to post the URL, an error message pops up sighting the the AIA link is in violation of their community standards.

After careful reviews of their community standards, it is clear that AIA categorically is not in violation of any of their rules and policies.

The basis of our argument is as follows.

  1. AIA does not post any pornography, sexually explicit material or any other content which is expressly outlined as prohibited in their Community Standard policies.
  2. AIA is an umbrella organisation aimed at improving operating standards and conduct with the adult industry and does not promote, sell or offer sexual services or products directly from its website.
  3. AIA does not allow its members to publish pornography, sexually explicit material or any other content on its website, which is expressly outlined as prohibited in the Community Standard policies of Facebook or Instagram.

Therefore, we feel that Facebook and Instagram are in violation of their own discrimination and other unfair practice policies.

Considering that AIA uses Facebook and Instagram for business purposes, this action of blocking our URL has had a severely negative impact on our organisation in the following ways.

  1. It has grossly hindered our ability to promote our organisation.
  2.  It has impeded our ability to generate revenue.
  3. It has caused users to consider AIA as an unsafe site.
  4. It has severely damaged our brand and our credibility.
  5. We have incurred expenses to seek legal advice to resolve this matter.

Our first course of action is to send the management of Facebook and Instagram a letter via our Attorney, requesting that the block on our URL be removed.

Source Media (Barbados Today Newspapers) - https://barbadostoday.bb/2019/10/09/sex-industry-exec-worries-about-child-sex-tourism

3703907069?profile=RESIZE_710x

Barbados is in real danger of becoming the number one sex tourism destination in the Caribbean for paedophiles, a veteran adult industry official has warned.

The head of the Adult Industry Association (AIA) Charlie Spice also cautioned the Mia Mottley administration that Barbados was on target to be infamous as the country with the highest rate of underage sex in schools.

He also revealed that child prostitution and sex trafficking were growing exponentially across the country.

Spice noted that over the past two to three years, countless numbers of videos have been circulating via WhatsApp and other social media platforms, depicting school girls in Barbados performing sexual acts.

“What is even more alarming is that some of these kids are having sex in their school uniforms, which is highly disgraceful and disrespectful to their schools, their teachers and their parents,” he said.

Spice told Barbados TODAY that he knows more than most people about the level of sexual activities among children and other young people because they confide in him as head of the adult industry thinking he would condone their behaviour.

“It really upsets me what is going on in this country. So many of these videos are coming to me.

“I probably get to see more…perhaps all of these videos and a lot more than most people because people seem to think because I am in the adult industry, I condone this sort of behaviour.

“I delete them right away because I more so than anyone else know it is illegal to store child pornography and it is also illegal to transmit it to other people,” he told Barbados TODAY.

Spice also revealed: “I am inundated with young girls in the streets in Bridgetown and wherever I go, bragging to me that they were having sex and bragging to me that they are involved in the commercial sex activities.

“So I know more than people about what is going on with this situation.”

Spice declared he is tired of school teachers and parents brushing the situation under the carpet because it is not their child or student in the video.

“Or perhaps it is just one kid from a school and the headmaster or headmistress will deal with that as an isolated case not realizing the gravitas of the situation,” the adult industry leader declared.

But Spice told Barbados TODAY that going public is just the beginning of seeking to bring awareness to this “alarming” situation and hoping for measures to address it.

“I will be writing the relevant authorities directly and see if I can get some dialogue going. I would love to have some town hall meetings and attend some parent teacher association meetings because I am very concerned about this situation.

“What upsets me more is that people think I would condone this type of behavior because I am in the adult industry,” an adamant Spice said.

The adult industry official said the sex videos are not only circulated within Barbados, but are also shared worldwide, “thus bringing Barbados to the attention of paedophiles and child sex traffickers who are always looking for new destinations to exploit children. The last thing Barbados tourism needs is to become synonymous with this type of negative activity. Once acquired, a country can never rid itself of this reputation,” he warned.

He stressed that for years, minors in Barbados have been sexually exploited by local men with impunity, as very few have been prosecuted for the heinous acts.

He said: “With these videos of child pornography floating around social media, it wouldn’t be long before a global demand is created for little Bajan boys and girls.”

He said this scourge gives rise to a number of questions such as “are the videos we get to see only a fraction of the number of school kids having sex; why have the morals, values and self respect of our children in Barbadian society deteriorated so low that they not only have sex in schools, but deliberately allow videos of these acts to be produced and posted on social media; are parents doing enough to stem this problem; and is the Government and the school administrators doing enough?”

Spice said it is time for Barbadians to stop burying their heads in the sand and recognize that this problem is not isolated to a handful of children who happen to get caught via videos on social media.

“Sexual activity among minors in Barbados is an island-wide problem within secondary schools and to a lesser extent, primary schools.

“The impact is no longer just the spread of STI’s [sexually transmitted infections] and teenage pregnancies. Child prostitution and sex trafficking are now a reality and continue to grow exponentially on the island.

“Barbados needs to take onboard the lessons learned by countries like Vietnam, Brazil, Romania, Philippines and India where these problems have existed for years to varying degrees,” he added.

He appealed to the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Tourism, the Royal Barbados Police Force (RBPF), Immigration Department, Child Care Board and other relevant organizations to develop and implement realistic interventions and sustainable solutions to address these issues.

“The management of AIA is happy to offer assistance as required,” he promised.

“This is also a warning to parents who brush this issue under the carpet because their children are not the ones seen in the videos. Are you sure your child is not having sex at school or elsewhere?” he asked.

3703315343?profile=RESIZE_710xAdult Industry Association warns the Barbados government about the short and long term impact of the growing trend of sexual activity among underage kids.

Over the past 2-3 years, countless numbers of videos have been circulating via WhatsApp and other social media platforms, depicting school girls in Barbados performing sexual acts.

What is even more alarming is that some of these kids are having sex in their school uniforms, which is highly disgraceful and disrespectful to their schools, their teachers and their parents. Our late Prime Minister, Sir. Errol Walton Barrow must be turning in his grave, at the undoing of his legacy of making Barbados renowned for having the 3rd highest literacy rate in the world.

Today Barbados is on target to be renowned as the country with the highest rate of underge sex in schools , and the number one sex tourism destination in the Caribbean for pheodefiles.

These videos are not only circulated within Barbados. Unfortunately there are also shared worldwide thus bringing Barbados to the attention of pheodefiles and child sex traffickers who are always looking for new destinations to exploit children. The last thing Barbados tourism needs is to become synonymous with this type of negative activity. Once acquired, a country can never rid itself of this reputation.

For years, minors in Barbados have been sexually exploited by local men with some degree of impunity, as very few have been prosecuted for these heinous acts. With these videos of child pornography floating around social media, it wouldn’t be long before a global demand is created for little bajan boys and girls.

This scourge gives rise to a number of questions.

1) Are the videos we get to see only a fraction of the number of school kids having sex?
2) Why have the morals, values and self respect of our children in Barbados society deteriorated so low that they not only have sex in schools, but deliberately allow videos of these acts to produced and post on social media.
3) Are parents doing enough to stem this problem?
4) Are the government and the school administrators doing enough?

A prostitute and drug-fueled Sex Island will be hosted at a resort on a private island off the coast of Trinidad and Tobago, a representative from the company has told the New York The Post.

The four-day, three-night sex romp originally cost $6,000 per person, but that dropped to $4,500 as part of a Black Friday promotion that is still in effect, according to the company’s website.

For their money, the 50 guests will each have two prostitutes available to them and receive unlimited food and drinks. Most of the women hail from Colombia, Brazil, Puerto Rico and other South American countries. A few American and Canadian girls are also slated to attend.

The international media is reporting that besides the women, guests have easy access to drugs, with Sex Island staff members acting as liaisons between dealers and partygoers.

Cocaine is the most popular drug requested by guests, according to The Post.

While the exact location of the resort and private island remain a secret, a representative for Sex Island says the company’s gotten the go-ahead from the authorities in Trinidad and Tobago.

However, when contacted by The Post, Trinidad and Tobago’s Ministry of Tourism said they’d never heard of the event. They also said that both prostitution and drugs are illegal in the island nation.

National Security Minister Stuart Young and Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith have both been made aware of the reports. They intend to investigate and find the truth behind the report.

According to the reports, Sex Island is the brainchild of five hard-partying friends who regularly host and attend sex parties around the world. The men, who are in their 30s and 40s, “sort of think of themselves as Robin Hood,” because they bring the everyman into their world, which, they claim, is filled with rock stars, prostitutes and drugs.

The five men, including two New Yorkers and a brothel owner from Colombia, are so passionate about their burgeoning business that they’ve turned it into a mini-empire.

Besides the annual blowout Sex Island event that is designed for the public, they set up bespoke events for wealthy clients who pay upward of $10,000 per person to have private and customizable sex vacations.

Sex Island’s Dec. 14-17 event, however, is the company’s second attempt at creating the ultimate sexual tourism experience for the masses.

Last year, the five owners planned to host the event in Colombia, but when authorities in the South American country caught wind of it, they effectively shut it down.

Sex Island eventually found the island in Trinidad and Tobago that has become their home base.
